Hello IndieStacker! I've been thinking a lot recently about how to nourish the community and make sure that everyone who has signed up for it feels like they're getting as much out of it as they have put in. So, today, I want to announce some major changes to our infrastructure, some updates regarding our events, and some things to look forward to.

Fresh new website

First, we have a brand new website. IndieStack will be content-first from now on. On our website, you will find new content weekly — some for free, and some exclusive to premium members of the community. Here's what you can expect every week:

  • Indie News Snippets - short, relevant pieces of news that might be interesting to you as an indie maker.
  • Interviews with indie makers
  • Articles to help you level up your building, shipping and marketing game
  • Newsletters

If you're an IndieStack member, or if you've signed up for our newsletter in the past, there's no need to sign up again. Simply login with your email address.

We'll now be chatting via Slack. The Discord channel will be deprecated over a few weeks to give everyone the chance to move over. .

A lot of people have asked me why I'm moving from Discord to Slack. After much research and feedback, I have found that most people use Slack on a daily basis, whereas Discord is not something they are logged into every day. My hope with this move is that our community can be more active and accessible to a large number of members.

One of the main drawbacks to moving to Slack is that we will lose our chat history. To make sure this doesn't happen, I've implemented Playgroup, which we'll use as a Forum. All of the discourse threads have been uploaded onto Playgroup and we can continue having long-form discussions in there. All you have to do is sign up to Playgroup using your IndieStack email.

Ship in 30

We are currently about 12 days into our Ship in 30 challenge and it has been going wonderfully. Our members are well on their way to shipping in just about a week and we've been benefitting from the support and encouragement of the team. If you'd like to join our next Ship in 30 challenge, fill out this form. It starts May 20th.

All in all, I'm very excited to be re-structuring and I hope that you can all join me in making this community an amazing place for indie makers from all over the world.
